Woman loses fingers, is bit on face in pit bull attack

Despite how strongly pitbull owners in Connecticut advocate that their dogs’ breed can be loving and wonderful family pets, the reality that these dogs are also frequently involved in attacks on humans or other dogs cannot be ignored. Yet again, reports have surfaced about a violent incident in which two pit bulls left a woman with injuries on multiple parts of her body.

The incident took place in the early morning on a weekday in Hartford. It is not known what precipitated the event, but the attack was discovered by a neighbor who was awoken by the victim’s piercing screams. The neighbor happened to be a firefighter in Hartford and ran out of her home to see what was happening. She witnessed the two pit bulls biting at the woman as if they were trying to eat her while she lay on the ground. The victim was said to be in a ball on the ground, holding her own puppy as if to shield it from the two attacking dogs.

The neighbor used a bat to try and get the dogs to leave the woman alone but her efforts were unsuccessful. Eventually an object that was thrown by another neighbor managed to instigate the pit bulls to leave. The victim apparently lost fingers and was also bit on her face and feet. She is in the hospital after having originally been discharged.

People who experience these terrifying attacks deserve help and compensation. Talking with an attorney may help to provide opportunities to obtain that.
