Connecticut residents are all-too aware of the dangers that that drunk drivers pose to innocent victims on area roads. Police requested both blood and urine samples from the woman which returned evidence of morphine and cocaine in her system at the time of the crash. She had apparently been in treatment for opioid addiction but was kicked out of the program due to lack of participation. She has now been charged with manslaughter in the second degree , driving under the influence of drugs and illegal use of a cell phone while driving.
