For new drivers, the risk of an accident is higher than for those with more experience. Always buckle up
When you get in the car, one of the very first things you should do, before you even start the engine, is to put on your seat belt. Take it slow
Don’t drive at a speed faster than you are comfortable with or faster than the posted speed limit. Wherever you are going will still be there when you arrive. Staying with the legal speed limit will not only help you avoid a traffic ticket, but it could also give you the time you need to avoid a wreck with another driver who is not adhering to traffic laws.
Make adjustments while in park
If you need to adjust the mirrors, your seat or the thermostat, do so while the car is in still in park. Trying to do this while in motion can cause you to become distracted and could end in a fender bender. Also, be sure all loose articles in your vehicle are properly secured. If you do become involved in a wreck, having these items secured can save you from further injuries.
In addition to the above, always keep both hands on the wheel and never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. While you might follow all of the above safety tips, that does not mean that other drivers will.
