Principal causes drunk driving accident

Drunk drivers are responsible for many an accident in Connecticut. In the luckiest of situations, these accidents may result in minimal damage or injury. In other situations, victims can experience serious injuries or even die. No matter what the outcome of a drunk driving accident, the dangers and the responsibility of the impaired driver are always the same.

It is sometimes surprising to find out who has been arrested for drunk driving. The community in Meriden has recently learned that their local high school’s principal was involved in a DUI accident earlier in the month of February. Reports indicate that he was allegedly driving while impaired and passed on the right instead of on the left. An accident resulted that fortunately did not leave anyone injured. There were no details given about the nature of the accident and if any other vehicles and drivers or how many other vehicles and drivers may have been involved.

After the incident, the principal has been granted a leave of absence from his duties, reportedly at his own request. It is unclear what consequences he could face if he is convicted of the drunk driving charges. It is also unknown what damage may have been caused in the accident.

The fact that nobody was hurt in the crash caused by the principal is good but does not take away the serious nature of this event or of drunk driving in general. People who have been involved in an accident caused by a drunk driver may wish to talk to an attorney no matter what the outcome of the collision may have been.
