Motorcyclist in critical condition after accident in Connecticut

Firm News On Friday, August 30, 2013

It has been said that there is no such thing as a small motorcycle accident in Connecticut. With the very nature of a motorcycle, when a biker is involved in an accident, he or she tends to suffer injuries, many times serious and even fatal ones. This is why it is so important for a motorcyclist to take the proper precautions and wear safety equipment such as a helmet, leathers and proper foot wear. Doing so may not prevent all injuries, but it is a good way to minimize their impact.

A motorcyclist who was wearing a helmet was involved in a car accident recently in Granby, Connecticut. Authorities are still investigating the accident, but they do know that a 21-year-old driving a Toyota collided with the 47-year-old who was riding on a Harley Davidson on Route 189 northbound. The Toyota was traveling west when the two crashed in an intersection.

The Toyota’s driver was not injured, however the motorcyclist wasn’t so lucky. He was airlifted to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Perhaps if he hadn’t have been wearing a helmet his injuries may have been more severe and possibly even fatal.

Hopefully the motorcyclist will be on the road to recovery soon. As he recovers, he may wish to seek the advice of a personal injury lawyer. An attorney can go over his case and help ensure that the man is properly compensated for his pain and suffering, medical bills, damage done to his bike and even the time he had to take off work as a result of his injuries.
