Drunk hit-and-run driver arrested after causing 4 car collision

Few car accidents in New Haven, CT are more despicable in nature than that of a hit-and-run. As if hitting a car and causing damage and possible injuries isn’t bad enough, leaving the scene just adds insult to injury. People run for a variety of reasons including fear of being held responsible for the damages done or being found driving while intoxicated. Whatever the at-fault party tells themselves, there really is no good reason to speed away from a car accident you caused.

One man that caused an accident involving four cars recently did just that. Authorities eventually found the 40-year-old in his own driveway, still inside his car with bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol emanating from him.

The accident occurred near an intersection as traffic was stopped at a red light. The drunk driver, who also happened to be driving on a suspended or revoked license, is accused of running his pickup truck into the back of a car that was waiting at the intersection for the light to turn green. The impact caused the car to crash into the vehicle in front of it. If the man would have stopped right then, another accident could have probably been avoided, but in trying to flee the scene, he reversed his truck and hit another car behind him.

The people affected in this accident were by all accounts law-abiding citizens who were waiting their turn at a traffic light. They may wish to seek the advice of a lawyer who can help them get compensation for the damages done to their vehicles.
