A recent accident in Meriden has left a young family devastated. According to reports, a man and woman were driving with their two young children, an eight-year-old boy and five-year-old girl, and the woman’s 12-year-old son, when an allegedly alcohol-impaired driver hit their vehicle while they were stopped at a red light. The older boy reportedly suffered serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit. The man and woman were also injured. Both of the younger children were killed.
Law enforcement officers reported the other vehicle’s driver had a blood alcohol level that was well above the legal limit for driving at the time of the auto accident. In addition to the list of criminal charges the man is now facing, including second-degree vehicular manslaughter, the family could also choose to take legal action against him.
