Firm News On Thursday, July 3, 2014

Despite general rules, lights, signs and other signals, which are used to designate the right of way for motorists, motor vehicle accidents are still very common at intersections throughout New Haven, and the rest of Connecticut. Depending on the severity of the collision, these types of crashes can have ranging consequences, from minor injuries, to much more serious ones and, in some cases, even death.

According to reports, a 60-year-old man was killed in a car accident that occurred at an intersection in Orange recently. It was not disclosed whether he died on impact, however, he was reportedly pronounced dead at the accident scene. The 41-year-old female-driver believed to be responsible for the collision suffered minor injuries. She was treated at a local hospital.

According to reports, the accident occurred near the intersection of Dogburn and Dogwood Roads. The investigation into the cause of the accident reportedly remains ongoing. It appears that the woman, who was traveling westbound, struck the victim’s southbound vehicle as he crossed through the intersection. Reports did not indicate which driver had the right of way at the time of the collision. It also was not disclosed whether speed, or some other factor, may have contributed to causing the wreck.

People, who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents, as well as those who have lost a family member under these circumstances, may be entitled to financial compensation for damages and expenses. It may benefit those who are in this situation to consult with a legal professional to ensure they understand their rights, and to learn more about their options.
