John joined the firm in July, 2006. He was formerly a partner in the law firm of O'Donnell & Riley where he practiced for fourteen years. He maintains a general practice of law with an emphasis on plaintiff's personal injury litigation, workers' compensation, criminal defense, real estate transactions, education law and family law.

John is a member of The American Bar Association, The Connecticut Bar Association, The New Haven County Bar Association and The Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. He is a court appointed Arbitrator/Fact Finder in all state judicial districts within Connecticut. John also serves as Special Master for family law cases in the New Haven Judicial District and the Regional Family Trial Docket. In addition, he serves as an impartial hearing officer for the Hamden Board of Education.

John received his J.D. in 1992 from The University of Bridgeport and his B.A. in 1985 from The University of Connecticut.  His past recoveries on behalf of clients include a $540,000.00 jury verdict for injuries sustained in an automobile accident; a $750,000.00 arbitration award for a slip and fall incident; and a $1,000,000.00 settlement for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.  John's successful representation of a personal injury client in an automobile accident case was also recently featured in an article by Thomas B. Scheffey, "T-Bone Crash Plaintiff Gets $118,044 For Torn Knee", Connecticut Law Tribune, Vol. 35, No. 27, p. 5 (July 6, 2009).  He has also represented clients before many state and administrative boards. 

John is married and has three daughters. He is active as a volunteer coach in the Hamden Regional Youth Basketball League and the Hamden Fathers' Softball Association. He is also a volunteer at the New Haven Animal Shelter and one of the founding members of the WTNH-Channel 8 Pet of the Week Project.
